Small home interiors present both practical and stylistic challenges, but these two compact and functional interior projects have skillfully mastered their limited area. Each measuring a little less than 45 square meters, these two exceptionally small apartments have glass walls that expand the feeling of space and light to withstand strict dimensions. Chic modern decor features coherent color palettes that encourage a sense of peace and order. Each apartment design also manages to squeeze a dedicated laundry room inside a small bathroom, leaving no modern amenities accomplished. We’ve included the floor plans at the end of each tour to give you less space inspiration.
Measuring 42 square meters, this apartment interior was designed for a young couple of computer scientists. All living spaces are joined together in a small open layout where green decorative accents create a new coherence.
Fluted glass doors discard the bedroom, allowing for the sharing of natural light between the two spaces.
Along the window wall, the radiator was decoratively boxed with built-in bookcases along both sides. The wide window sill makes it an ideal home for indoor plants.
Slat panels end the sides of the kitchen units, creating a smart transition space around the home entrance. A combined lattice panel was applied behind a wall mounted shoe storage to round out the contemporary aesthetic.

Measuring 43.5 square meters, our second small home is located on Svyato-Pokrovskaya street in Kyiv, Ukraine. A small, minimalist sofa gets more presence underneath 2-Arm Rotary Application designed by Serge Mouille. A suitable ottoman is decorated with a decorative tray arrangement.
The small sofa is actually a two-sided design that also serves as a dining banquet for the extendable dining table.

Around the corner, the rest of the covered balcony space is used as a modern home office.

On a raised south-facing piece of land of more than 1000 square meters, this magnificent modern property is sculpted into the rock face in Camp de Mar, Mallorca, Spain. Designed by E5 Tenado, the villa itself has a built area of 394 square meters above two levels. Villa Statera has a variety of large open and covered terraces and a rooftop terrace to accommodate fascinating views of the Mediterranean Sea. Facade of continuous floor-to-ceiling windows fuses the bright waterfront panorama with the interior of the home as well, which has an inverse layout with the main living space scattered across the upper floor and bedrooms located below. A wood and concrete brutalist exterior shelter this 2900-square-foot home project, based in Houston, USA. Created by the architects at Robertson Design, The house Concrete Box hides a two-story home with a multi-level living space. The ground floor is a brutal concrete back room with a clearly comfortable essence that comes from luxurious upholstered furniture, attractive wood-clad elements and a functional kitchen located right at the heart of the home. Private courtyards and a large garden surround the cool concrete interior with beautiful landscaped views. Upstairs, the house is revealed to be a family home, with two children’s rooms and a serene master suite.
The concept of The Concrete Box was born from three main purposes. The first goal was to begin the experience with a choreographic entry sequence, the second, to maintain material clarity, and the third was to establish a bold sculptural presence.
The brutalist exterior of the house consists of three main volumes, which are a concrete box for the ground floor living space, a wooden box for the private bedroom and bathrooms upstairs, and a low concrete wall that surrounds a courtyard around the front entrance.
Only two windows pierce the front of the fort building, so that the solid sculptural element is interrupted as little as possible. Entrance to the home is made between the two overlapping concrete walls in the front. A courtyard sanctuary awaits between the solid walls that lead you to the front door.
A side entrance is disguised as a wooden lath window that looks into the courtyard.
The wooden gate aligns with a wooden lath window on the upper floor to create a cohesive aesthetic.
One push turns the long, wooden barred gate on its axis, giving access to the entrance courtyard.
The brutal courtyard walls are lined with elegant planting. Mounded ground cover gently molds the edge of the gravel walkway,
The side entrance gate facilitates access from the car park. Alternatively, a rear front door secures the carport to a mud room at the rear of the property.
A slideshow creates a welcoming snapshot of the interior.
Passing through a darkened entrance hall with a low ceiling, a thick walled opening leads to the high and brightly lit main living space. The open layout is sandwiched between serene views of a closed courtyard in front and a large garden behind. A multi-level floor creates a clear zoning between a sunken living area, a midway kitchen and an elevated dining area. A long row of storage cabinets serve as media in front of the sitting area and become kitchen cabinets at the end end.
A tan leather sofa and contrasting cream chairs make up the comfortable lounge space. A square coffee table provides a bold black visual anchor in the center of the opening plan. Behind, a skylight bathes the central kitchen island in natural sunlight. The abundance of natural light in the living space and open views into the courtyard and garden comes as a pleasant contradiction to the solid facade.
A long kitchen window overlooks a narrow perimeter garden that is large enough just to give a beautiful view.
The floor on one side of the kitchen island is higher than the other, which means the breakfast bar can be provided with a comfortable, children’s dining bench instead of bar stools.
The dining bench also reduces visual disturbances that are minimal at all times. The stone roofs in the centralized kitchen darkly complement the extreme black window frames at each end of the room.
Large doors behind the open concept adjoin the interior with the tree-lined garden.
Initially a concrete terrace extends the interior floor treatment to the exterior living space, before an attractive wooden deck takes over. The elegant modern outdoor chair seen on the wooden deck is the Easy Chair Grill designed by Francois Azambourg for Ligne Roset.
The contrast of concrete and wooden deck reflects the materials used in the construction of the house itself.
A sculptural focus is set at the end of the large garden, protruding from the shade of the trees.
Back inside the home, the modern staircase design has a striking single cantilevered concrete staircase at its base.
The rest of the stairs are solid wooden steps and lifts. A door to the first children’s room can be seen ahead, with a set of double doors leading into the washroom on the right.

At the top of the stairs, interior picture windows accept light from a bedroom.
A wide window blesses the master bedroom with a serene green view.
The private master bathroom is a large and luxurious space with marble tiled walls and tailored furniture.
The self-contained bathtub and shower are located inside its own bright and airy humid room. An enclosed toilet is located on the opposite side of the double sink.
On the floor plan for the home, we can see that the two children’s rooms are adjacent to a bathroom Jack and Jill. The master series is blessed with a huge wardrobe, as well as a massive bathroom.

Reserved decorative palettes are quiet and safe, but sometimes you just have to break some boundaries! These four creative home interiors are shaped by the intuitive use of bright and contrasting colors and are also not afraid of patterned and unusual paint effects. We will discover a small open concept living space with a calculated clash of orange and green accent colors, a confidently colored living room with an artistically painted TV wall, a color-blocked apartment with a pink panache in the bedroom and an elegant apricot filled city pad.

Displayed by Rindes, this elegant apartment features original crown molding and deeply decorative stucco molding through impressive high ceilings. Wainscotting has been manipulated to disguise interior doors, and unique paint effects distort spatial perception under a subtle muted sage green and red pink palette. Curly, contemporary furniture and modern decorative accessories create a clean juxtaposition against the more decorative elements, while striking modern lighting fixtures add a fresh sense of grandeur. The ground floor plan was opened to touch the good living spaces, creating a flow, maintaining clear zoning. The elegant and soothing aesthetic is modified into a fun and functional children’s playroom project, to create one coherent atmosphere for the whole family. While these two distinctive home interiors differ in scale and color palette, they find a common ground in elegant modern décor, industrial accent walls, and open concept bedroom projects. The first of our two featured home projects is a soothing pale gray interior with raw exposed masonry and a lath wall bedroom project straight from the living room. In a stark contrast, our second prominent home interior is enlivened with crevices and light yellow accent pieces that warm and elevate cool concrete industrial walls. A glass wall bedroom project opens on both sides to fully merge with the neighboring lounge and kitchen dining rooms.
Located in Kiev, Ukraine, this 83-square-meter apartment has a combined free living room, kitchen-dining room. The soft gray modern sofa merges quietly with color matching living room walls.
A slatted wall clearly divides the bedroom from the main living space without completely obstructing its view. The open concept increases the sense of space and light in the home, and achieves easy flow. A rough brick feature wall builds an old, industrial effect across one side of the room, drawing attention to the TV.

Abstract, linear volumes pile up to form a distinct modern 4266 square foot home for five families in Bangalore, India. Created by Spine Architects, the unique angular shape stands out sharply against a gray, densely populated metropolis. Pure white concrete and rich wooden cladding contain a dwelling based on the ancient architectural science of Vaastu, which embraces the advantages of nature. The interior spaces are simple, spacious and projected around two landscaped courtyards, each with skylights that flood sunlight into the openly interconnected floors of the house. The natural greenery brings a valuable exterior within the introverted urban housing, with trees that draw the eye up through the impressive void.
An illusion of floating piles is realized through cracks and openings around the modern home exterior, which gives the building its name “Floating Walls”.
The visually appealing structure is defined from the densely populated site by sloping white concrete walls that protrude from the front and side. Rich wood cladding looks warm and attractive under the glare of exterior lights.
The toned wood and clear glass elements juxtapose the solid white walls.
Unconventional slices swayed throughout the building to accommodate natural light and exterior views, while maintaining ultimate privacy.

On a 1,000 square meter southern plot of land, Villa Anguli overlooks Camp de Mar, Mallorca, from a privileged high position. Created by E5 Living, the modern Mediterranean residence of 399 square meters has spectacular sea views that have influenced its geometric architecture and elegant glass facade. Superior interior luxury is realized in chic modern furniture and a clean minimalist approach. White walls, lots of light and high ceilings make it a perfect gallery space for an avid collection of contemporary works by Damien Hirst, Andy Warhol and Banksy. The artwork injects vibrant bursts of color over three floors of seamless spaces, each drawing to the panorama.
The geometric architecture of Villa Anguli projects along a sharp oblique angle of its built-in base on the hillside. This irregular shape allows the villa to absorb glorious sea views across the entire width of its elegant glass facade.

An outdoor lounge is arranged on the pool terrace, to take advantage of the excellent Mediterranean weather. On the ground floor plan, we can see the equal scale of three double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Sliding glass doors unite the bedrooms with the outdoor space and pool. We can also observe the angular nature of the open living area that cuts the cantilevered sun terrace. The ground floor of the villa was evenly divided between indoor and outdoor living spaces, with retractable walls blurring the boundary.

Here we will look at the intricate design that forms the interiors of these extraordinary apartments, and some subtle stylistic variations between them. These high-end interiors are modern yet timeless, functional but attractive, to complement the special character of the building’s heritage facade. A deep, muted color enriches a material palette of natural wood, cool stone and metals to create a polished pattern. Wardrobes and beautiful bathroom projects build layers of luxury, while unique contemporary furniture attracts lines and pronounces luxurious comfort.
As we enter the main apartment of this apartment, an eye-catching jade green tufted sofa sets the tone for a unique modern luxury. A contemporary fireplace blazes across a luxurious marble fireplace. Large marble shelves extend the aesthetic in a vertical column. Twin lounge chairs set up a unique, designer presence.

The homeowners ’initial report called for a redistribution of space to accommodate their lively family, including an open living room, a private home office, a personalized room for each of their two children, and the installation of a terrace door from the main room. . Bold color has become the integral aspect in the renovation and recharging of the family home interior, with dynamic color combinations creating a vibrant contrast in every direction. A lively connection to nature was planted by a false “secret garden,” observed through a fun window sill in the home office.
The TV wall decoration is the first thing you notice as a prominent feature of the family room. A wooden tin bench was built next to and around a regular television stand to form one integrated modern piece. Whatever feelings or belief system you may have around the color red, whether it’s passion, strength, energy, or even luck, red is definitely a powerful power when it comes to interior design. Because of its intensity, red is more manageable in smaller quantities, as are chamber elements that are more accentuated than dominant. Using too much of this strong shade can easily accomplish a pattern, but with more focused bursts, this color can be used to zoning and intensify areas within a room or open plan. That said, here are three inspiring home interiors that use bold red accents to create warmth within white modern home interiors.
Our first home is an apartment designed for a young professional female homeowner, located in Moscow, Russia. A modular sofa is marked as the first hot spot in this arrangement by a red hit at the backrest, and more subtly by interlaced sections in the upholstery. The spaced red accents make the predominantly white home interior look bright and comfortable.
A pale gold finish table neatly wraps around the end of the sectional sofa layout to form a comfortable reading area.
The metal end table and delightful gold-to-red shaded metal volume shine in the soft atmospheric lighting scheme.
A floating TV stand carries the red accent around the perimeter of the living room in a luxurious marble moment. One end of the TV was formed into a container for indoor plants.
Recessed LED strips illuminate and define a textured wall covering across the TV wall.
The graduated metal cube forms the main focus of the combo dining room. The unusual volume contains a vestibule dressing room, along with some long-term storage. Contrary to the rest of the contemporary interior, a classic baroque gilded frame was used to display artwork by Italian pop artist Slasky, whose work transcends tradition and modernism.
Behind the lounge area, the island was marked as the hot spot of the kitchen. Coordinated red bar stools, cupboards and roofs make up one fully colored saturated volume.
Moving into the bedroom, we discover that the bedroom closet is located behind another beautiful shady volume. A wooden platform bed fills the rest of the length of the room with an elongated bed sheet.
Unlike the opaque shaded metal volume in the living space, the bedroom closet cube is formed by translucent gradient glass partitions. Illuminated dress rails and shelves glow through the gold glass.
Modern sliding shutters run through the large window.
A clean, linear floating TV is installed at the foot of the bed, which is transformed into a home workshop at the window end.
A shiny gold swivel chair adds elegance to the simple desk.
The homeowner asked that the bedroom be kept spacious for yoga practice at the window.
The warm color theme is completely lit within a cool blue bathroom plan.
However, the red accent still comes together in the usual shady two-screen treatment.
The tinted screen defines the walk-in shower from the rest of the color-blocked bathroom.
Bathrooms form a wall of light copper.
The suspended rack hides shower accessories and cosmetics from view.

Our second modern home design lays a base of earthy brown elements for the red accent, over a clear white foundation. An espresso round rug covers a rusty rectangular equivalent to create a warm layered effect.
Bright red wall art focuses on where we would expect to find a TV or projection screen. A wonderful decorative ceiling fusion extends along the length of the common living room and dining room.
Wooden coffee table beds into the luxurious carpet layout, under the weight of a Tom Ford coffee table book.
Bold art by Carsten Beck brings self-confidence energy to the modern dining room. A large globe dining room lamp completes the striking abstract composition.
A unique accent chair vibrates with the bright wooden dining table from the corner of the room, while the dark dining chairs connect with the black and white artwork.
Checkered plaid accent chairs bring a pattern to the elegantly cured living room. A unique end table is his own artwork, with molded perspex legs and visible gold fixtures.

In the master, a burgundy rug underlines a pale gray upholstered bed and a woven sofa. A unique leather chair makes a reading room in the window.
Finally, our third red accent home interior is an adventurous design that combines classic and modern aesthetics, and lots of materials.

Textured carpet is ribbed with red valleys. Glass art wraps a classic panel molded pillar.
Red mirror glass units create a graded feature wall in the dining room and hallway.
Another ribbed rug and a set of modern dining chairs make up the scheme of a red dining room. The ribbed texture of the rug echoes in the legs of the racetrack dining table to create a textural unity.
A run-down kitchen island completes the neighboring dining table so that the areas become a cohesive unit when double doors are opened.

Living comfortably in a space of less than 30 square meters requires some creative thinking, and this pair of studio designs have space-saving ideas that are sure to inspire. Each of these two unique small home interiors includes playroom tailored furniture that allows you to use the floor layout completely new. Home design number one has a tailored cube of the living room and bedroom furniture in one – no conventional sofa bed visible – and storage space is plentiful but unseen. Our second home design brings many closets in which an entire bathroom is hidden, and built-in bookshelf ears in a multi-level bedroom with a unique home workshop.
Our first prominent home is a 29-square-meter studio apartment owned by a young designer, located in Pruszkow, Poland. Despite its compact proportions, the minimalist living room is clearly zoned with the implementation of cubic volumes and contrasting colors.
The living room “cube” is custom-built furniture. The design fuses a tailored L-shaped sofa with copious amounts of hidden storage space around it and below, plus a bookshelf within one end.
A modern coffee table completes the square lounge layout. Part of the sofa was formed with the same steel frame backs to create a custom cohesion.
The box under the sofa hides a surprise lito trundle. The bed extends at the convenient reach of the bookcase, making it easier to choose to go to bed.
Thanks to its connectable design, this multifunctional light can be turned off from the ceiling of the kitchen dining room to become a floor-standing lamp next to the bed.
When it is in its kitchen dining room, the unique lamp is hung from a ceiling shelf to illuminate the dining peninsula.
A modern chair drops a black accent on both sides of the wooden effect bench.
Large windows fill the small living room with bright natural light. A home workspace is set up next to the glass.
An all-white kitchen project is equipped with a coordinated white integrated oven to complement the simplified aesthetic. Wrapping the small dining table with a contrast finish helps to clearly share the open concept.
The food peninsula is actually a mobile module that can become a stand-alone table/island. As seen here, the module can also be joined to the desk to make a much larger table that will seat up to eight people for dinner.
In this square configuration, the dining table and desk form a collaborative double workspace.
A solid wooden entrance bench adds a textured rustic touch to a smooth white corridor.
A wall of entrance storage is hidden behind modest handle-free cabinet fronts.
The storage wall includes a sliding volume that contains cleaning equipment and shoes.

The last door of the home entrance leads to the bathroom.
Atmospheric lighting accentuates textured dark gray wall treatment and a coordinated integrated bathroom sink.
A shower stands at the end of the narrow linear space.
Slatted ceiling panels exaggerate the long look of the room. Narrow warehouses at the end of the van store face towels and toilet supplies.
Our second home interior is a studio apartment with a special semicircular balcony design.
The balcony forms the main attraction of the tiny living space. The sloping perimeter and open roof bring joyful tree-top views and unlimited daylight.
Indoor plants thrive in abundant sunlight, growing from the shelves of a custom shelf and from plant stands around the floor.
The large built-in bookshelf forms a partition between the main apartment and the bedroom. The open side shelves serve both zones and share the natural light.
On the other side of the triangular living space, one wall kitchen is stacked up to the ceiling line to make maximum use of vertical storage space. A ladder facilitates easy access.
Wooden frame doors seal the balcony. More indoor plants bring the leafy exterior views into the embrace of the unique sunroom.
Eye field makes the space pleasant as the sunsets.
White-coated web screens filter the panorama, while pure sunshine flows from above.
The cool concrete floor is dressed in gray, green and sunny yellow tiles when we arrive at the home entrance, which is also the access point to the bedroom domain.
The bed itself is raised above the height of basic storage cupboards, which gives it an overview of the housing by the upper open shelf volume. Interesting objects line the shelves to give a strange decoration on both sides.
The multi-level small bedroom layout has a comfortable workspace across the midway point that benefits from the attractive view.
The raised floor gives the effect of going up to bed, even though the apartment is only one floor. The open shelf partition is invaluable for preventing feelings of claustrophobia in the narrow space, and for facilitating airflow.
A round coffee table takes up little space in the compact home and is light enough to be moved onto the balcony when needed.
Dining table focuses on the kitchen cabinets, hidden until needed. The table is just big enough to accommodate the two homeowners, so as not to eat up unnecessary space.
One of the other doors of a kitchen cabinet with full height is actually a secret door to the bathroom. Inside, sturdy storage shelves can also be used as a ladder, to enable the couple to quickly access bathroom supplies stacked up.
The floor plan shows that the bathroom sink is also plugged into the volume of the kitchen cabinet, which saves valuable space in the tiny shower.
