Scandinavian Home Interiors goes from strength to strength, appealing to our appreciation of clean lines, airy living spaces, and our need for everyday practicality. This collection of inspiring Scandinavian home designs explores six different ways to customize the aesthetic. We start with a creamy and serene elegant apartment where indoor plants meet natural wooden elements. We follow with a colorful Scandi interior that uses pink and kerchy accents to elevate and customize a neoclassical setting. Beige, gray, and beige decor colors of home number three, while design four resides in the minimalist monochrome domain. We end up with a classic Scandinavian-style black-and-white contrast, and a book lover’s home with a quiet mezzanine workshop.

Cream and white decor gently blend with warm wooden elements to style this elegantly serene apartment. Indoor plants add beautiful touches of nature to elevate the mild environment. A round glass vase adds a splash of botany next to a reading chair to create an attractive vignette.

Linear art adds visual interest to the empty, creamy white walls, without colorful distraction. A black frame gives the piece a definition on the light background.

The small sofa has a smoothly curved silhouette that makes the living room look welcoming and comfortable. A living room rug complements the sofa upholstery with matching cream fabric.

A fig leaf fills the corner of the room, providing a neat accompaniment to the sofa and effectively pulling the eye up to meet the artwork on the neighboring wall.

Scandi bookshelves introduce a warm wood tone onto the white living room wall.

Decorative objects adorn the open shelf, while less decorative items are stuffed into integral cupboards.

Pink and coffin accents happily elevate and personify this neoclassical apartment. Gold accessories add a luxurious sheen, in the form of a satin chandelier and a chic floor lamp.

Indoor plants bloom against classic glare. Decorative molding crowns the ceiling line.

Black and white wall art is hung at regular intervals around the perimeter of the room to create a Christian modern gallery between the neoclassical touches.

Magnificent double doors give entrance to the kitchen dining room, where Skandi-style kitchen units lie a very black line against a fresh white wall.

Simple white wall tiles build the kitchen backsplash. Smeg’s refrigerator freezer ties in with the retro style.

A modern record player gets a luxurious home on a white marble-tipped buffet.

Beige, gray and kerchief accents color this scandalous place of residence, among striking artwork.

A unique floor lamp brightly illuminates the detail in the modern artwork behind a coffin-upholstered sofa.

The round coffee table that sits in front of the sofa is a classic Scandi tray style.

The lounge area flows openly into an airy dining room and a narrow kitchen design.

In the dining room, clear perspex dining chairs achieve a more expansive feel by allowing the line of sight to go straight through.

A small, simple Scandinavian stool is used as a side table on which to display flowers in the kitchen.

The stool / table is joined with a piece of modern masonry to make a pleasing focus on a structural retaining wall.

Our fourth Scandi home design is a minimalist, monochrome canvas with geometric motifs. Gray and white geotape adds a burst of pattern to an otherwise understated living room.

A black and white typographic print catches the eye of a small dining room in the open plan residential area.

The small dining table is attractively decorated with a modern ceramic vase and a black metal candelabra headpiece.

A flash of greenery completes the table display.

High windows fill the apartment with natural light, which filters back into a single kitchen installation.

White marble countertops and white kitchen cabinets help the narrow space feel more open.

Our penultimate apartment shows a classic Scandi style in black and white high contrast and simple lines.

A geometric rug threads a pattern across the living room.

Baskets add a sparkle of natural rattan under streamlined wood and a black metal coffee table.

At the entrance, wooden laminate flooring is exchanged for intricately designed tiles. A mirror-shaped mirror is paired with an entrance stool to form a practical wardrobe next to the door.

Decorative shelves line a set of bookshelves to enhance their presence.

A wooden library ladder accesses the top shelves.

The lounge area goes around into the open plan kitchen dining room.

A single kitchen is installed under a quiet mezzanine workshop.

A built-in bookshelf completes the kitchen with a decorative touch.

The luxurious Scandinavian bathroom design has a classically styled freestanding bathtub that is raised to be perfectly lit inside a huge, steel window frame.

Breathing In Nature & Peace With Scandinavian decoration

Bohemian infusions to Scandinavian decoration mean more colors, more woven elements and more intricate patterns. Decorations and accessories take on a more natural aesthetic, with hints of world travel. In these four Scandi-Boho home interiors, the fusion of interior themes makes light and airy living spaces that communicate a connection with nature through indoor plants and a natural material palette. A sense of peace results from the natural vibrations, which are enhanced by earthy accents, handmade objects of interest and easy, windy arrangements. We will round off with a slightly brighter consideration of the aesthetics, where vibrant turquoises shake a quiet setting of white and wood tone.

A gallery wall of botanical art and an intricate pattern introduce boho vibes into our first outstanding home design. Skandi-style dove gray living room sofa makes a gentle accompaniment to the display of natural tones.

Down in front of the sofa, a geometrically designed rug stretches in shades of deep blue and shade. A small puff continues the blue accent shade in its boho padding.

A round lounge chair and a mature indoor plant pair to form a typical boho reading night ensemble, but a clever simple upholstery and a simple accent cushion bring back the simple Scandi vibes.

Outside the elegant little home, a deck is being built to extend the living space. A set of small outdoor chairs are turned out to the abundant green view.

The wooden deck splits into smaller wooden “steps” at one end that form a path through the landscape.

Inside the bedroom, a Scandi wooden platform bed is dressed in deep shades of orange and shade in a boho print. Dark shady scattered cushions are layered at the head of the bed, under a picture frame filled with dreamy botanical art. A simple round mirror adorns the adjoining wall next to the window.

Wooden bedside tables are equipped with elegant leather-looking handles. A sweet-smelling candy cane and a slender glass vase filled with dried flowers make tranquil decorations.

Within the clear white marble bathroom scheme, a wood-framed bathroom mirror and rustic wooden vanity make warming contributions. Shiny gold fixtures add a luxurious element.

Located in Barcelona, Spain, our second Scandi-Boho home tour begins in a lighted hall. A tasseled living room rug lies boho vibes under a Scandi lounge chair and a tripod floor lamp.

The Scandinavian style chair design features an element of cord wrapped around the frame that nods to the boho aesthetic.

Bottle-green split cushions add punk accents to the neutral beige chairs. The cushions connect with indoor plants that are scattered around the interior and the view of balcony plants that can be enjoyed through large windows.

A concrete planter was built on the covered balcony to house a bunch of flowering greenery.

Two woven chairs and a small round coffee table make up a nice lounge where the homeowners can drink together or read quietly in solitude.

An intricate black metal base gives the round coffee table a unique look. The table top is just the perfect size for a carafe and a pair of glass glasses.

The small kitchen is hidden behind wooden folding doors, which keeps the look of the open plan living room clean and clear when cooking doesn’t move.

A secret door leads to the bathroom.

Inside the bathroom, hanging planters create a wash of greenery over bright white cabinets.

A minimalist extra faucet fills the luxurious stone sink.

High-gloss white tiles run from the living room into the bedroom, where they create a clean, minimalist base for a comfortable upholstered bed. White wall panels complete the simplicity of the tiles and camouflage the door into the entryway closet.

The closet is a narrow but well-equipped space with ample storage.

Our third home design is a project in Colwyn Bay, Wales. Mid-century modern inspired Scandi side embraces the width of the living room, where fluffy imitation leather lounge chairs seem irresistible.

The bedroom is small but well arranged. A flat-textured bedroom rug holds together a pair of Scandinavian stools at the end of the bed. Rotating hanging light shades expand the symmetrical arrangement on each side of the bed.

The bathroom contains sharp black accents in the form of a linear modern bathroom, black toilet appliances and a black shower.

On our final Scandi-Boho home tour, bright turquoise accents rock a primarily neutral decorative palette. A large rug lays a simple pale gray base for the layout of the living room.

A round wooden coffee table offers a generously large place for drinks and light snacks during entertainment.

A decorative tray shows fluted glassware on the table.

The turquoise upholstered lounge chair forms the heroic piece for the lounge layout that inspires turquoise scattered cushions on the sofa.

The TV is mounted on a rotating bar to offer the ultimate viewing angle of various seating options.

On the opposite side of a wooden lath screen, a home gym is tastefully decorated with a chevron-effect wooden buffet and a painted arched wall feature.

A large indoor plant provides a visual buffer between the home gym and the home entrance.

Virgin white dining rooms are interspersed with heated wooden inserts where simple white dishes are stored and displayed. A barn door leads directly into the kitchen.

Base cabinets and knives put natural wood elements into the kitchen, while a green backsplash smooths into a soothing green accent color, and monochrome tiles spread a bold pattern.

The-Peaceful-Joy-Of-The-Japandi-Aesthetic

The Peaceful Joy Of The Japandi Aesthetic

The peaceful joy of Japanese aesthetics shapes these three modern home interiors, forming cohesive living spaces, bedrooms and bathrooms. The combination of Scandinavian and Japanese decorative elements evokes a welcoming atmosphere that springs from warm neutral and natural materials. Practical arrangements are designed to serve and enhance daily life at home, ensuring easy operation and general tranquility. We will visit one family home full of natural light and soothing wood tones that also inspires a compact shared nursery. Later we arrive at a luxurious studio apartment of a couple with a quiet fusion of international and Japanese styles. Lastly, we will end up with a simple and elegant home with comfortable layers for quiet access.

Sunlight fills a double-level living room in our first Japandi-style home, creating a sense of positivity and well-being. The wooden platform base of a Japanese sofa perfectly matches the raised floor section to build one elegant line. Chabudai table and Zabuton floor cushions occupy the high position, with an elegant bookshelf providing an attractive and useful background.

The brown leather sofa warmly blends in with an abundance of natural wood elements in the room. White walls and bold black accents separate the wood tone into a fresh Scandi-style check.

A modern coffee table puts a geometric silhouette over a striped rug design. The strips complement a spidery media unit and a wooden spidery circular motif that adorns a cabinet with an elegant Japanese feel.

The open layout living room flows into the kitchen and dining room.

White and wooden cabinets make up the L-shaped kitchen layout. The two-tone design visually separates most of the kitchen into lightweight floating volumes.

A change in floor covering defines the home entrance from the rest of the open concept. Striking black and white tiles lay drawn under a wooden lath entrance bench and a welcome mat “Home Sweet Home”.

Backlit bookshelves add atmospheric mood light to the home entrance.

The dining table is a built-in design that incorporates a large planter, bringing greens to the indoors. The dining chairs are the Armchair designed by Pierre Jeanneret.

Small dining stools provide the opposite side of the table to allow clear access to the oven housing.

The common nursery is a compact space maximized with custom furniture. The cots share a platform with toy storage underneath. Cabinets slam on the raised bedside table, where they tie with a sweet pink decorative palette.

A collaborative workspace for children completes the opposite side of the room. See more great ideas on shared children’s rooms here.

A pin wall provides an adjustable shelf above the children’s cabinet for light decorative pieces, while a large bookcase on the adjacent wall weighs heavily.

In the master wardrobe, the vain table is positioned to look through a wooden country wall into the bedroom.

Lighting the closet adds a soft mood light to the soothing white bedroom plan.

Floor plan.

Our second apartment is a 130 square meter detached house in Kyiv, Ukraine. The JP Residence was designed for a childless couple who wanted a quiet and comfortable fusion between international design and Japan’s unique aesthetic. In the living room, a long rectangular coffee table stretches in front of a sofa by Belle Reeve of De La Espada.

A platform bed is screened from the lounge area with a clean white door. Glass panels wall from the entrance.

Pandul’s bright aluminum Tip Top light illuminates each side of the bed.

The home library has a custom ceiling bookshelf, designed by Men Bureau, which is constructed of wooden poles and marble planes that fit together without screws or bolts. Benchmark’s Muse Sofa extends its clean line into a side table at one end. The swinging arm lamp above it is Marset’s Gingerlight.

TwentyTwentyone’s hanging light Hotaru Buoy communicates the homeowner’s love for traditional Japanese paper lanterns.

The hanging light from the dining room is the hanging lamp Lámina by Santa & Cole. Arch chairs, designed by South Korean studio Finder, even echo the round lines of light.

Cherry wood, boticcina marble and stainless steel fittings make up the kitchen.

The main purpose of the renovation was to open the layout to natural light from all sides, while maximizing living space. Glass walls have automated shades for privacy.

The home workspace is furnished with Kettal’s wooden Riva Table. Roll & Hill’s woody Infinite Direct light is hung above the desk, while iconic Roy Layer by Viabizzuno provides a focused task light.

The same materials are used throughout the house for a consistent result.

Gray walls accentuate the powder room, and create a contrast for a white marble vain unit.

An independent PB bathtub occupies the other side of the room. Mixers are from Piet Boon for COCOON. Stool Tabouret Berger, designed by Charlotte Perriand for Cassina, holds toilets close at hand. The towel warmer is from Vola.

Perspective drawing.

Studio floor plan.

Simple and elegant, our final home project builds warmth with neutral colors and natural materials.

The TV easel runs through a dark accent through the bright living room, and adds bas-relief decoration.

Various cushions separate style comfortable blend sofa.

More cushions and launchers heat up a long window seat – a perfect place to enjoy a book in the sunlight.

Minimalist handle-free cabinets color one wall kitchen with a soothing sage-green finish.

These three modern home interiors are inspired by fresh Scandinavian style decorative elements while highlighting an elegant Asian distinction. In fashion, a graceful arch motif unites the aesthetics of the Japandi interior apartments, along with a warm natural wood tone and a clear white color palette. Displayed by Elemental Design, This group of inspirational homes is designed as contemporary family units with functional open plan living spaces. Practical storage ideas use small hallways and home entrances, bedrooms are multifunctional with clothing areas and home workshops. The children’s rooms are beautiful, colorful and compact, with fun ideas for children’s closets, built-in bookcases, tailored bed designs, children’s desks and adorable decor.

A warm tan accent thread is woven through the first of our three featured interior designs that perfectly complement natural wood tone elements within the plan. Color coordinated version of a Leon: The Professional print balances inserted shelf niche. The modern sofa has a tan ottoman section, while Around coffee tables designed by Thomas Bentzen for Muuto hold things purely monochrome against a geometrically designed Scandinavian rug.

On trendy arches and racetrack, motifs round out the curly contemporary interior. A unique modern chandelier drops frozen eye sockets over the living room.

Scandi’s TV style combines sleek wood grain and clean white aesthetics, while an Asian altar shelf is the main focus high above the TV screen. An attractive wooden lined arch leads to the two bedrooms.

Running screens are combined with a sideboard to build a unique and useful storage full room divider between the dining room and the door that leads into the bathroom.

A rectangular dining table is set up against the back of the elegant room partition. A gray ceramic flower vase of foliage creates a relaxed table centerpiece.

A wine storage bin and a black retro fridge-freezer bring refreshments and ice to the dining room.

The small kitchen runs away from the other side of the fridge-freezer. Wooden base cabinets absorb natural heat into the mainly white decorative pattern, while white wall cabinets increase the space.

In the compact main room, an upholstered bed and woven carpet put gray accents. A wooden effect panel crosses the white-painted capture wall to connect the bed with a floating toilet. A round vanity mirror bridges the two-tone effect.

Built-in white closets achieve a clean, minimalist finish at the foot of the bed.

Green accents color the beautiful children’s room. A tailored green headpiece design embraces the arched decorative motif where an Aballs pendant designed by Jaime Hayon for Parachilna illuminates the bed unit.

Tailored children’s closets combine white and wood finishes and a touch-striped texture.

A billboard adjoins the tailored children’s bed design, which encompasses a wall of toy storage and bookshelves on its elongated base. A mountain theme cuts a creative green accent across the closet doors.

Our second outstanding interior design is a modern cottage. An arc floor lamp completes a chic arched wall molding behind the low modern Japanese style sofa.

The wall mounted TV set has a taste of modern and traditional aesthetics, with its natural wood and screen door inserts. A Buddhist altar shelf floats above the divided two-colored wall treatment. A beautiful ceiling fan carries the rich wooden accent to the ceiling. See more unique ceiling fans here.

A prominent black marble coffee table emphasizes the delicate nature of the white and beige woven rug. A second coffee table nests a complimentary wooden equivalent.

A range of scatter cushions creates a mixed tone arrangement across the white upholstered sofa.

A low, Asian style accent chair completes the compact lounge layout.

Between the living rooms and dining rooms, a wooden framed arch leads openly into the connected kitchen.

A light-permeable display room shares the home front door to create a functional family entrance. The combination of natural wood and rattan ends up forming a warm and welcoming corner.

The kitchen is a generously proportioned space that allows the whole family to gather in food preparation activities and at the food peninsula. See more inspiration for white and wood kitchens.

When we enter the main bedroom of this home, we are greeted by a wonderful airy and light decorative aesthetic of clean white walls and solid oak furniture. An oak floating TV stand completes the bedside table and matching makeup table next to the window.

The bespoke bed of the platform bed extends perfectly across the back of the makeup table to create coherence. A round mirror delicately serves the vanity, while a Matisse art print adds a bold back accent over the bed.

A mini bedroom lamp illuminates a turned wooden bedside table. Custom closets and Eames walnut stool designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller make up an elegant dressing room.

A clear glass vase brings a vibrant glow of natural greenery to the bedroom TV wall.

The beautiful children’s wall decor pours positive energy over a built-in bed design and a wall-mounted children’s desk.

The small floating desk is lined with an arched bookshelf niche inside the closet, where school books can be kept close at hand. A strip of wood continues the desktop end through the white cabinets.

Bow-shaped cubes make adorable perches for special soft toys, treasure items and extra books. See more inspiration on how to incorporate elegant arches in interiors.

The home office contains double workplaces that are blessed with natural light from tall twin windows.

Built-in units store office supplies and large household items, while unique bookshelves display decorative pieces.

The final home tour in this series begins in a very small but elegant living room with a space-saving armless sofa. The striking black swing arm lamp above it is the 1-Arm Rotary Screen designed by Serge Mouille.

3D wall art creates subtle arches over the sofa. A set of round nest coffee tables completes the curves, while a geometric print rug brings a sharp contrast.

Next to the TV stand, a round ottoman provides additional, mobile lounge seating, or an occasional footstool. Black and white plaid throws create comfortable accents.

H&M style decorative vases add a curved aesthetic to the dining table that stands opposite the kitchen island according to the compact open concept. Asian inspired dining chairs bring curved wooden frames to the set.

Above the smart food set, a paper globe hanging light seamlessly embraces the Asian and Scandi aesthetic.

Black, white and wooden kitchen designs merge quietly with the serene living room.

Black and white floor tiles define the kitchen area from the rest of the living space.

A runway formed a niche nest between two architectural arches.

One of the arches visually separates the living space from the small home entrance, where custom cabinets use every inch of vertical and horizontal wall space.

More units, a shoe storage shelf and an entrance bench fill the other side of the lobby area. Decorative vases add an artistic touch.

In the double bedroom, a geometric bed and a perfectly compatible rug create a fresh modern statement.

A black buttress swings between providing a reading light over the bed and a task light to the desk. Above the workspace, a set of floating shelves contain books and decorative objects.

More books slide under a built-in window seat.

Throwuskuseno draws a geometric print on an elegant bedroom chair. An arch separates the bedroom wardrobe, and creates an attractive bedroom entrance.

A toilet is placed in the white cupboards, with a contrasting wooden back. A unique mirror arches inside the usual piece.

Fistish green accents enliven the pastel children’s room. A beautiful bear wall art adds a friendly companion over a unique toned green and wood plank bedside table. The plank roof continues across the entire width of the room, stopping behind a children’s desk with storage shelves at the base. A green accent corner encompasses a tower of wall shelves.

Another green accent bookshelf is placed at the end of the children’s closet, which is attached to the end of a tailored platform bed with storage drawers.
