A sense of serenity pervades us as we tiptoe through this set of luxurious Chinese-style villa interiors, each open and spacious and decorated in soothing laconic palettes and exquisite details. Displayed by ZHBB Vizio, these spaces are reminiscent of the beautiful scenery of Jiangnan, the picturesque lands that lie south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. These peaceful riverside memories inspire water-filled courtyards, where reflective pools surround majestic trees, and colorful koi fish swim. Light living rooms and spacious dining rooms provide high-end places in which large groups of friends and extended family can gather and socialize until the evening. Traditional teahouses respect a long-lasting ceremony.

The light-filled living room has an entire glass wall that overlooks a peaceful courtyard design and a separate wing of the villa that holds the parking lot.

To the right of the open plan hall, a large and imposing spiral staircase twists into contrasting black and white finishes.

Light cream sofas and counterbalanced black accent chairs make a visually interesting combination.

Recessed track lights cross the ceiling to distribute even lighting throughout the large living space.

A skylight feeds a majestic tree with natural daylight. Rocks complete the sculptural courtyard layout.

Black grooved wall panels go up along with a modern fireplace to camouflage its purpose when not in use,

A wall of wooden grain panels creates a visually warming decorative function that is atmospherically illuminated around its edges by embedded ribbons of LED light.

The illuminated wall feature denies the need for wall lamps and provides even more diffusion of brightness.

A wooden effect wall panel envelops other aspects of the room as well, creating continuity and coherence

Alcoves are brightly lit to ward off the shadows.

A traditional prayer table is erected in the corner of the settlement, where a Ganesha statue sits among religious texts.

A Buddha statue makes a meditative ornament to one of the coffee tables.

The courtyard design that lies outside the living room window is a water-filled space that can be bypassed by modern, linear stepping stones. A pebble bed makes a solid home for a small but elegant tree where it can be soaked in sunshine.

Under the shady overhang of a second-floor balcony, an outdoor seat was created on a wide wooden deck. Outdoor chairs gather around a luxurious marble coffee table to form a conversational arrangement.

As the sun moves, the deck becomes a heated area in which to take outdoor tea.

A modern locker room lies under the shade of the upper balcony.

The courtyard provides a beautiful view and an influx of natural light to the rooms of the home that surround it. It also creates an outdoor connection that encourages homeowners into the fresh air while touring their homes.

Beneath the undulating surface of the reflective pool, colorful koi fish swim and thrive.

The pool holds a mirror to the surrounding architecture.

A rock wall delivers a rough, textured feature behind the small tree.

A manjushri statue looks contemplative at the water’s edge.

The parking garage is a well-decorated space, clad in a wooden lath wall panel and floored with a smooth, polished concrete slab.

Returning to the living room, we take a closer look at the spiral staircase that rises from a high-gloss black platform. A white marble wall rises behind it to absorb a contrasting pattern.

A spherical sculpture sways on the polished black base of the staircase, with a magical ring of light making a bright halo around it.

The gold sculpture interacts with the curve of the curving staircase to complete an amazing sight.

Low-brightness LED strip lights highlight every step of the spiral staircase, providing a safe passage from top to bottom.

Solid railings are clad in rich wood milk to create a striking finish.

The curved main theme continues inside the kitchen dining room, where a niched light feature shows a circular outline over a round dining table. Compatible wall lighting expands the round aesthetic.

A light dining room hanging light low hangs to the round wooden dining table, which has a luxurious white marble inlay.

Cream-packed dining chairs accommodate up to sixteen people at the dinner party.

Just outside the dining room window, a second water-filled courtyard provides relaxing sights and sounds with a mini-waterfall feature. Koi fish swim under the concentric ripples that radiate to a path of stepping stones.

Behind the formal dining room, much of the kitchen has a hidden presence. Kitchen storage and integrated appliances are locked behind slab-fronted, unobstructed cabinet doors. Only the kitchen island is obvious to the eye, which contains the kitchen sink and the kitchen counter.

The kitchen island is fused with a random breakfast table at one end that seats six.

A simple ornament adds a brief flash of greenery to the white table.

The kitchen utensil unit rises directly from the island, allowing it to be completely removed from view when not in use.

Indoor plants and statues make attractive vignettes on each side of the room.

Abstract artwork hangs moments of intrigue along the corridors of the home.

Another art is inserted into the stucco itself.

A bright tea room is set up at one end of the large open plan living space, separated from the main hall by the dominant staircase design, and partly by a darkened glass partition.

The slim table design has a light presence in the space, while a stone tiled feature wall is more dominant. A red chair adds a bold color.

This modernly decorated room leads to a more traditional setting.

A decorative screen marks a visual stop between the two areas.

A courtyard brings sunlight flowing through.

The decoration is on the ground a palette of rich browns and a dark wooden tone. A paper globe hanging light places a bright white core in the center of the scheme.

A sealed wooden bumper shows beautiful craftsmanship.

Light screens are used everywhere to subtly mark transitions of space, while allowing the eye to wander through and allowing natural light to be shared.

In this traditional tea room design, a low, rustic bench is paired with simple floor cushions. A picturesque mural paints a set of wall panels behind.

Recessed perimeter lights give the room a soft and special essence.

A paper floor lamp draws attention to the attractive wall treatment.

Bowls, rustic wooden trays and a ceramic vase provide the traditional tea table with decorative elements.

A botanical display of red flame is reminiscent of Jiangnan’s red flowers and beautiful sunrise in spring.

The rustic and natural elements give the space a terrestrial, outdoor feel.

With the wall screens turned on, the tea room joins with the neighboring room.

Tetsubin teapot is hung from the ceiling.

The decorative screens are lightly transparent, which gives them a wonderfully light essence in the space, whether turned to be open or fully closed.

Feathers of white pampas grass make a mesmerizing display under a focused lighting installation.

The pale grass is reflected in an inky black soil.

Black walls and a black ceiling seal any external light sources.

Inside the master bedroom, a unique headboard design divides the bed from a wardrobe behind it.

The bed is located to concentrate on the window sill, which is filtered through pure white wills.

A sculptural bedroom chair shines in the sunlight with a shiny golden finish.

A traditional Chinese scene plays across the back of the bespoke headboard design.

In this double bedroom design, a jade green blanket colors a traditionally decorated space.

A floral feature wall adds an elegant bloom behind the headboard.

Opposite the bed, a wall of glass units shows a collection of designer handbags.

Black side tables contain chic lamps for night reading.

A modern bedroom chair and a contemporary wire frame unit complete the furniture configuration.

A unique glass vase shows a minimalist botanical arrangement.

A glass staircase connects two furnished balcony areas.

An outdoor dining room and seating furnish the roof.

Rustic benches give the space character.

The inseparable Tea Rooms Design culture of East Asia is well-known, where tea is much more than just a pleasant drink. Not only is tea enjoyed in person and at social events, in small tea parties and in public teahouses, but many cultures have created intricate formal ceremonies around the act of tea preparation and service. While East Asian tea ceremonies differ between countries, the ritualistic nature of the drink is agreed upon. This pleasant daily observation has inspired the inclusion of personal tea rooms within modern homes, which is what we are exploring here today. From traditional Asian tea tables and tatami mats to contemporary interpretations of the theme, we will discover how to raise tea at home.

Color a space steeped in tradition. Deep red, natural wood and black accents will bring a sense of the past even to modern interiors that give a contemporary twist to the aesthetics of the tea room. Add elegant indoor plants and small trees to enliven the rich background.

Light up tea parties with an LED-powered lighting scheme that encourages a sense of warm modernity. This camera benefits from a view of the projector screen, which is also mounted in an attached open plan living room.

Low Chabudai table and Zabuton floor cushions allow large windows to be enjoyed fully. Consider developing a zen garden, lily pond or vertical garden to really benefit from the window framed scene.

To honor the Japanese tradition, Zabuton floor cushions and floor puffs are key. Equip with Shōji doors or screens and framed Shūji calligraphy to complete the look.

Chinese tea drinking is done at a raised table. It is considered inappropriate to sit directly against the tea towel, but in a house of only two people, one could let it slide.

Botanical artwork creates a peaceful view that contributes to the relaxed atmosphere of tea drinking. This beautiful Shōji-lined space also has a round picture window to frame the true beauty of nature.

Label on tea room. It’s okay nowadays to tag a tea room on an open plan living space. You can get a feel for a special ceremony with a larger tea server chair and smaller counterparts on the other side. Side with symmetrical cabinets and finish with a focus on serene wall art.

Show show. A collection of Tetsubin cast iron teapots is proudly displayed on lighted shelves here, combining traditional and contemporary approaches. A focal wall of wooden grating panels suggests traditional Shōji displays without full commitment to the effort.

Sweep away. A wide spiral staircase and fascinating views of nature amuse the mind and soul while tea extinguishes the body.

Install built-in shelving units to lovingly display a selection of teas, along with antiques, art, and a selection of treasured tomes.

Group hangers along a large tea table to accentuate its size and linearity.

Imputate a Japanese tea room and believe a sense of zen by placing a Buddha statue in a prominent position.

As tradition has it, a cast iron Tetsubin teapot should be heated while suspended over an irori fire.

Enjoy a burst of flaming foliage with the introduction of an indoor Japanese Maple Tree.

Zaisu floor chairs take a step further to the comfort of the simple Zabuton cushion alone, and Kyousoku backrest still offers more support.

A marble fireplace leads this room to the highest level, along with a designer linear pendant light and a custom bookcase wall.

If you can’t decide between floor cushions or chairs, then you can always straddle the two aesthetics with an eclectic collection of seats that will please everyone.

The Bonsai tree has long been a symbol of balance, patience, harmony and good fortune in Asian culture, with Zen Buddhists believing that the Bonsai is an object of meditation and contemplation. Who wouldn’t want to bring these amazing qualities to their tea table?

Display a collection of white teapots against a deeply colorful background to create a striking contrast. Grumpy backlighting exaggerates the bold effect.

A nature-inspired modern chandelier will complement beautiful indoor plants, tranquil garden views and serene landscape art.

The seating label in a traditional Chinese tea house conventionally requires that the first guest of honor be located on the left side of the host. The remaining seats are allocated in descending order to the right. Therefore, a common bench will most likely come after single seats if the length of the table allows.

Mountain motifs are popular in the interior design of a tea room. Their undulating contour provides a vast panorama that visually opens up the space.

Arch decoration is common in modern interiors, and tea rooms are no exception. Use this curved device to softly frame a decorative object that sets the scene for a ceremony, and use a ribbon of LEDs to draw a suitable spotlight.

Another amazing Japanese Maple is staged in a mini zen garden.

Of course, a comfortable tea room is also a great place to relax for a game of checkers. Don’t forget to allocate storage around with playtime in mind.

Form a new tradition. This traditional webcam layout is updated with a prominent shape theme of circles and bold lines.

The same linear hanging lights and background of illuminated round art are repeated here behind a much smaller tea table.

Update Chabudai simple wooden table with contemporary concrete top. These cleverly cushioned floor chairs give the look of simple cushions while giving much more support and height.

Surround yourself with the art of making tea in an art-filled room.

Japanese ginger vases were originally containers for salt, oil and spices like ginger, which of course is where they got their name from entering the western world. Their decorative nature is now enjoyed on shelves and fireplaces and makes an ideal accompaniment for a tea room.

A skylight forms a wonderful natural spot above a tea table.

A raised floor helps zoning a ceremonial area from the rest of the floor plan.

Arrange floor-level dining set with an independent tea area to double their impact. Use authentic tatami mats to define the zoning.

Often, in modern interiors, a cast iron Tetsubin teapot is not suspended over an irori fire but directly above the table.

A discontinued Tetsubin teapot provides an impressive sight that sets up an instant ceremony.

Decorative screens provide an effective, atmospheric visual anchor for an open plan tea area.

This custom tea table seems to run straight through the window, where it joins a sun-drenched courtyard.

Sculptural clouds pass in front of an artistic mountain range in this unique and dreamy decoration scheme of a tea room.

A great example of calligraphy adorns and zones this open plan room from the rest of the airy residence. High shelves are accessorized very simply so as not to endanger the tranquility of the environment.

No space for a dedicated tea room? Thank you. Even a wood-clad window seat can make an elegant setting for a ceremonial tea service.

A living edge table lends itself wonderfully to the tradition of soaking practice of tea making, serving and enjoying.

An arched window at the end of a long tea table creates a magical view.

Paperless shui screens keep this camera connected to the neighboring residence and allow the fabulous view to be shared everywhere.

This beautiful balcony in Rurikō-in-temple makes a meditative tea room.

Muxarabi screens amuse the eye with a uniform pattern.

Thickly woven floor cushions add a contemporary trend to the mix.

A portal cut-out window offers a peek into the stunningly varied contents of a large tea room behind this tea table. A large Bonsai tree stands majestically in the window.

Show Chinese architectural models to celebrate the origin of tea. A glass brick wall echoes the lattice aesthetic of a Shoji door while letting through a more intense light level.

Floor-level perimeter lighting will style the space as special but modest.

In another nod to Chinese architecture, this Chinese tea room features a circular vignette of architectural design as the focus of the room. On either side of the specially ordered piece, built-in lighted shelves display a selection of special teas and tea-making vases.
