Stucco wall coverings make textured backgrounds that provide many decorative styles. Their subtle inclusion provides a canvas that complements a lot of accompanying materials, colors and furniture design, without any collision or overpowering. These four inspiring home designs show how to use concrete stucco in modern settings for the family, young professionals and the advanced homeowner. Home design number one features a water-molded concrete living room with a cohesive play area for the little ones. Design two is where industrial concrete meets cool Scandi style. Home three dips into the realm of color, and design number four features a smooth capitulation of microcement in a refined, spacious dwelling.

This high home is located in Xiaogang, Anhui Province, China. As you approach the apartment on the third floor of the building, a prominent red door appears. On the other hand, an industrial-style open plan space is enclosed in water-molded concrete that makes a lacquered background for floating life zones.

A short, concrete room divider privately screens the front door of the directly adjoining lounge area. An entrance bench is hidden behind it, while a small buffet adorns the front face.

Behind the sofa, a set of smooth black wooden grain doors slides closed to neatly cover a children’s play area when not in use.

A small side table brings a moment of warm natural wood tone to the cool concrete decor that coordinates with a wooden sofa frame and matching coffee table.

Mature indoor plants and tiny cacti dot greenery around the moody gray interior.

With the sliding doors pulled back, the combined lounge space and playground form one large, connected family room.

A split-level floor defines the main living room of the children’s playroom. Concrete stucco runs around the perimeter of the children’s space to form one cohesive decoration with the main living room.

Monochrome children’s furniture and decorative accessories form a play area that does not touch the eye too much.

At the opposite end of the living room is a modern dining room. Ligna Wegner-style Wishbone Chairs are paired with a gray stone-tipped dining table.

A built-in bookshelf provides a decorative moment of warm wood tone between the living room and dining room.

Fluted glass doors separate the dining room from the neighboring kitchen.

The textured glass doors fully slide back to merge the kitchen and dining room into one fluid space.

White subway tiles build a clean backsplash on the concrete kitchen walls.

Black kitchen units give a stark contrast.

In the concrete bedroom, a wooden platform bed warms the look. An indoor plant adds tall greenery at one end of the bed, which balances the height of a tripod floor lamp on the opposite side.

A full-length mirror places a slice of natural light against the dark gray concrete wall of the dressing room.

Wood effect tiles create a contrasting comfortable atmosphere inside the bathroom. A small bathroom mirror allows you to enjoy a larger area of the tile in the compact space.

This Penthouse in Moscow uses a slightly smoother and lighter concrete stucco to form a lighter and airier feel interior.

The lighter background makes it a nice companion for Scandinavian-style accessories and furniture, like this elegant Scandinavian-style chair.

A unique shelf climbs the space between the living room and the entrance to define the two separate areas. Wooden wall paneling further differentiates the change in function.

The gray striped living room rug creates a soft island for a modern tufted sofa and round coffee table.

Two large dining room hangers drop bold black accents over the table that coordinate with two modern black dining chairs.

The opposite side of the dining room is lit by white and wooden Scandi-style dining chairs.

Floating bookshelves add a light embellishment to the textured concrete wall.

This 76 square meter home is located in Odessa, Ukraine. A small sofa adds a rich green accent to a quiet, warm gray microcement environment.

Indoor plant coordinates with the sofa color.

On the side of the TV wall, a small dining table is hidden next to an alcove of built-in shelves for decorative objects.

The galley kitchen has metal base units that reflect the light and shadows of the living room.

Inside the bedroom, a contrasting color scheme of deep shadow saturates the walls.

A copper-colored finish covers the walls of the bathroom and the side of the tub.

Floor plan.

Finally, our fourth home design is a high-end housing in smooth microcement. A plush sectional sofa makes a welcome landing in the living room, along with a coordinating lounge chair. A glass coffee table reflects light from huge living room windows.

The pale cream-padded furniture arrangement is warmly accented with a contrasting wicker chair.

The honey-toned wicker chair joins a natural wooden floor that floods the entire apartment.

In the formal dining room, a combination of wooden dining chairs and mint green equivalents builds a fresh look. The linear dining room chandelier straddles modern and classic aesthetics to form a lasting charm.
