Located within the Jazz apartment complex in Moscow, Russia, this elegant apartment has 4.5 meters high ceilings and impressively large windows. Designed by Lake & Walls, the home interior is spacious and welcoming, touched by color and interesting eclectic decor. Mezzanine level contains a bedroom and a home workshop that look out over the view of the city. The generously sized kitchen of the apartment is located below the mezzanine, along with the bathroom and entrance hall. A second bedroom is hidden behind a partition in the living room. Inside, a Murphy bed leaves floor space free during the day, and a space-saving staircase climbs to a small mezzanine dressing room.

A modern curved sofa and a classically inspired chandelier mark a lounge area within the open plan lounge. Perspex coffee tables keep a busy collection of books in the center.

A tan leather chair rests on a sliding partition that builds a wall of warming wood tone. The TV is a small afterthought, mounted randomly on the corner of the concrete window niche.

A wooden herringbone floor stretches across the living room, while decorative tiles will design the hallway and home entrance.

A black swing arm wall lamp extends over the dining area. The interesting centerpiece is an Connect a candledesigned by Colin King Studio for Menu.

The dining and living areas are open to the kitchen in the spacious apartment layout.

The mezzanine master bedroom is accessed by an attractive staircase design with arched metal railings.

The tiled floor of the hallway connects with the kitchen to provide a worn, easy clean finish. A peninsula separates the culinary space from the adjoining settlements. Two kitchen stools are paired at a breakfast bar along the edge.

Wooden framing gives the white kitchen a retro aesthetic, along with antique bronze shell cup holders.

Stainless steel kitchen appliances give the retro U-shaped kitchen a modern shake.

Classical artwork adorns the walls.

The high living room partition leads to a two-level dressing room, which is divided by a small mezzanine. This room also serves as a second bedroom, with a buttress hidden inside the bank of ground floor units. A sleek bedroom chandelier drops rich color into the unique room design.

Space-saving staircase design climbs to the two-story closets. Glass bricks lend light to the large living room next door.

When the side room is open to the living room, and the Murphy bed is closed, the extra space alludes to a library.

Classic cover and panel molding adorn the Murphy-bed cache and the surrounding units.

An arched bookshelf makes an elegant statement over the head of the Murphy bed unit.

Decorative stucco relief fills the gap of the arch.

Two modern wall lamps are hidden inside to provide light reading over the cushions.

Upstairs on the mezzanine dressing room, the floor is tiled with the same black and white design as is used in the kitchen and hallway.

Moving into the large mezzanine bedroom above the living room, we find a deep decorative scheme of bitter chocolate. This single dark color completely envelops the bedroom to blur the line of the low ceiling and to evoke additional depth.

The dark wall and ceiling color also evokes a comfortable sense of sanctuary and encourages sleep.

In contrast to the dark decorative palette, a clear white home office desk is set up against the mezzanine railing.

Located here, the workshop gets great views of the city through the lofty windows of the living room.

An antique chair blends in with the modern minimalist desk design.

An all-white curtain closes the bedroom away from the city at night. A golden night lamp gives off a calm glow.

The bedside tables are integrated into the wooden trapdoor design, which keeps them neatly floating away from the floor.

Custom storage units are installed behind the trap wall to maximize space.

Small artwork and a red accent chair give welcome items of vibrant color.

A collection of antique chessboards creates a colorful statement that goes down the stairs.

A unique bathroom sink is gloriously lit by natural light from a glass brick wall. Above the glass bricks, a custom carved mirror reflects fabulous ceiling art. Elegant wall lamps burn on both sides of a chic oval vanity mirror.

Decorative vases beautifully adorn the silver vanity counter. Wooden shelves seem to stand out from a matching wooden wall panel to show toilets, small boy diffusers, and fresh-smelling candy.

On the opposite side of the room, the shower is cleverly framed in brass.

A classic painting is hung next to a modern stainless steel towel warmer. Contemporary ceiling lights transcend the traditional ceiling mural.

The WC is hidden in a private room, away from the rest of the bathrooms. A retro pistachio toilet is paired with a modern steel trash can.
