Elegant woodwork and Classical Decor columns form a decorative backdrop for works of contemporary sculpture and unique accent furniture. Designed by Oksana Dolgopiatova, this 261 square meters, two-story apartment belongs to a couple and their two children. The customers were clear in their request to create a comfortable space that reflects their personalities and love for classic elements, industrial style, natural materials and modern art. Mixing different styles, textures and character within one apartment, a personalized and uniquely harmonious home design was created at the top of the 13-storey apartment building. The interior design has been completely rearranged to accommodate the needs of the new homeowners and to maximize the potential of the apartment.

The main living room is a spacious open plan living room, dining room, and kitchen combination. Exposed masonry gives the apartment an industrial essence, while truncated woodwork panels layer an elegant classic style.

The modular sofa layout extends in two directions, serving the dining room as well as the TV lounge. Black and white split cushions add interest to the simple, pale gray sofa upholstery.

The original narrow staircase, which dominated a floor space close to the windows, was relocated to the center of the apartment.

The owners of the apartment chose not to have a corridor that would separate the stairs from the place of residence to achieve a fully assembled layout.

A concrete TV stand completes the industrial atmosphere of the exposed masonry walls.

Modern sculptures contribute strong silhouettes and bold color to the room.

Glass panels share natural light from the living room with a guest bathroom.

Inside the guest bathroom, a fashionable modern racing-shaped vanity mirror is paired with the bathroom sink and contemporary black wash stand. A classic bust and an industrial-inspired concrete planter adorn a set of bathroom shelves.

The dining peninsula branches off from a central kitchen island. Upholstered kitchen stools seat up to eight people.

Focused spotlights highlight a sculpture in the kitchen dining room.

Oak flooring encompasses the entire living space, completing one cohesive look.

An exposed duct pulls the industrial element across the ceiling of the kitchen, while traditional woodwork is spliced with surprising red paint to create a striking statement.

Modern black spots illuminate the length of the kitchen island.

A strip of LED light intensifies the red accent wall.

The solidity of the color-blocked wall counterbalances the complexity of the woodwork.

Wooden window coverings complement the natural wood mold that crowns the perimeter.

The entrance is defined by the living room by a change in floor and cast iron outdoor column design. A unique gray puff matches the concrete slab.

A red stool and a mesmerizing black-and-white checkered side table attract the eye.

Sophisticated wood paneling works to slightly camouflage doors to the adjoining rooms.

Black powder-coated metal railings climb the sides of the wooden staircase.

Above, white stucco forms a light and light landing.

Modern sculpture nests inside the spindles.

Glass panels allow natural light to pass through without hindrance.

A roof lantern brings sunlight flooding down the stairs.

The master bedroom is a grand space with an open plan eneta bathroom. Panoramic windows benefit most from the view from the thirteenth floor of the apartment complex.

Modern artwork adds an abstract color over a monochrome modern upholstered bed. A unique floor lamp puts a luxurious gold accent on the edge of the bed.

On the opposite side of the upholstered bed, a deep, wooden window sill doubles as a liter shelf. Outside the window, a balcony is decorated with potted plants and wooden decks.

The master suite is almost exactly halfway between the sleeping area and the en-suite bathroom. Black, white and gray patterned tiles of a bathroom mark the change in function of the oak wood floor bedroom. An elegant bedroom chair reinforces the separation of zones, along with a floor mirror and a small side table. Mirrored doors lead to the closet.

On the small side table, a sculptural planter brings a high-gloss golden accent. Behind it, a self-contained bathtub glows in the sunlight from the upstairs windows.

Opposite the tub, a clear white bathroom sink contrasts sharply with a concrete vanity table.

Golden wall lamps match the adjacent floor lamp.

Privacy curtains are closed through the glass shower and the WC area.

Herringbone tiles join behind the wall hung toilet and bidet set.

Brass fixtures add warm metallic touches.

The eclectic mix of classical, industrial and artistic elements continues in the home office. An artistic plinth and floor lamp carry decorative elements to the side of a small sofa. The only plant stand is an Hourglass Pot of Ferm Living.

The floor plan illustrates an added washroom on the first floor of the apartment. On the second floor, we can see the generous scale of the master closet, and how the two children’s rooms side by side a children’s bathroom.

Apartment layout before renovation.
