Sunlight and refreshing relationships with Mother Nature make these modern dining rooms irresistibly inviting spaces in which to gather, break bread and stay for a long time. In this varied collection of 51 dining rooms that connect with light and nature, we will look at botanical dining rooms filled with living greenery, dining rooms with interconnected courtyard designs, and glass walls that open indoor dining rooms to lush gardens. and pool terraces, as well as outdoor dining rooms for an authentic outdoor experience. We will also cover many different aesthetics, from boho and rustic to modern and industrial styles, in addition to global inspiration from Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Mexico and Brazil.

Stack it. Double glazed windows draw the sky into this modern dining room, where the rich wooden tone of a stunning living edge dining table is complemented by walls of exposed red masonry. A gray concrete floor cools the comb.

Paint a picture. Fully retractable doors transform the garden of this dining room into a perfectly framed image. Lathe panels cross a clear window to filter warm sunlight on a long wooden dining table. The light play and natural wood tone are complemented by a set of wicker food hangers on top.

Bridges to nature. Wooden ceiling treatment perfectly connects this air-conditioned dining room with a terrace and lake panorama.

Versatile links. Double-sided windows and skylights burst open this large and bright dining room to different views of the garden and skyscraper. Glass walls are removed to allow the breeze to flow freely, bringing with it the sounds and smells of the environment.

Blur indoor-outdoor boundaries. Concrete flooring communicates both interior and exterior aesthetics, while built-in grill provides refreshing flavors. The wooded landscape rushes right next door, creating a perceptible view.

Draw the influence of nature inside. Back plants flow outside the tall windows of this dining room and some are cared for inside the home to blur the border.

Natural sandwich. With open views of the surroundings on one side of the house, building an inner courtyard will sandwich your dining room amidst enriching natural landscapes. More pictures of this home are here.

This double, natural kissed dining room has a majestic tree that pushes up through a centrally located courtyard. This patio design also gives the dining room a solid connection with the rest of the home.

Draped dramas. This upscale dining room has a wide forest view that is flanked by heavy, dramatic drapes. Bold linear pendant light adds to the framed effect.

Take it to the water’s edge. If you don’t live by a lake, then create the waterfront experience for yourself with a surrounding pool. The water will make magical light reflections from walls, ceilings and floors.

Is there anything more perfect than having a fruit tree outside a dining room? This lemon tree leans abundantly to the doors of the dining room, offering fresh citrus pressure for salads and liquid refreshments.

It is the chairs that bring a lemon zest to this enviable dining room. The brightly colored upholstered dining chairs make merry companions for surrounding green views.

Shielded and shaded. Outdoor dining areas have a special reward that brings us closer to nature when we take care of ourselves in the most natural way. Adding shelter above means we can continue the experience even in light rain or scorching sunlight.

Another sheltered outdoor dining area, this time with a landscaped boundary to bring nature straight to your fingertips.

You can also add a ceiling fan to tightly walled terraces to wake up much needed wind.

Enjoy gardens fully equipped with frameless corner windows. The extension of the surrounding glass achieves an unbroken connection with the garden – without having to deal with the weather or the bugs.

Spectacular subtractions. The presence of this staircase design is minimized by a single cord and glass railings that allow the garden panorama to pass through. The double high void of this sensational dining room is a well-shaped circular cut in white stucco that smoothly reflects the light.

In this Vietnamese villa, the white ceiling space above the dining room is further emphasized by a contrasting dark wood-paneled equivalent over a comfortable lounge area.

Cure a complementary material palette. Natural wooden cupboards, bookshelves, chairs and side tables separate from a beautiful living edge wooden dining table here. Elegant indoor trees and Asian artwork create a sense of zen.

Wooden ceilings and wicker hangers make a harmonious match in tone and texture. This imposing, sloping ceiling opens wide to accommodate a compilation of five different hanging sunglasses along with the dining table.

Inspired by the palette of nature, this modern gray dining set draws influence from the gray bark just outside edge-to-edge windows.

Don’t waste a single inch, these custom-made windows are full of high-ceilinged dining that gets natural light through the day and the changing seasons.

Imitate the landscape. An undulating roofline mimics the sloping silhouette of trees.

Pleasant pool views. The wide window sill in this minimalist dining room also serves as a window seat. Here, the homeowner can take a moment to rest or eat a quick sandwich at the very edge of a raised pond. The elevated position of the water feature also places it at the main viewpoint of the dining table.

Increase the color contrast. When decorated with botanical themed decorative elements or natural greenery, warm red and orange accents make a perfect punk color contrast.

Wood and smoke. With stripes of a wonderful wood tone, it’s possible that the look becomes a bit boxy. Light up the look with smoky gray and charred black elements to create a zoning and eye-catching definition.

Beautiful inside and out. This wooden lath ceiling makes it a suitable companion for outdoor fencing.

Make room for nature. This large hall is divided in the middle by a glass interlude that houses a native tree.

Dull dining rooms can be enlivened by a well-placed skylight.

A round skylight mimics the sun.

You don’t have to choose between panoramic views and wall space for art. A slim mailbox window gives you the best of both worlds.

Exhausted brick walls translate the outdoor essence into interior spaces.

Stone walls bring deeply textured rustic and boho vibes.

Sounds of nature enhance a serene atmosphere. Think springs and bubbling fish ponds, like the one in this fabulous modern Indian house.

Use garden views as a wonderful canvas to build, as in the unique staircase design of this open plan dining room. The curved steps create playful moments of light and shadow over the dining room and beyond.

Take your dining room to the lightest part of the house with the best garden view, even if that’s at the front entrance.

Of course, you don’t have to own a garden when you have a lot of flowering houseplants.

Don’t stop at just a few pots when you can get everything out.

If you only have a small yard, then consider growing a vertical garden wall to grow an abundant green dining room.

In an upstairs apartment, take it to the treetops.

This food banquet will be the prized seat of the house, dinner or not.

Stepping out. Adding stairs through the brush allows you to plant an outdoor dining room on the sloping ground without having to build the foundation. More pictures here.

Instead of having a mess of indoor planters, cut out one neat channel on the floor.

Even the narrowest garden boundary can contribute to an effective surrounding result.

The interior of this modern Mexican house makes a deep chocolate brown contrast with the fresh green environment.

Coastal dreams. The ethereal white stucco that surrounds this light dining room adds to the dreamy effect of its mesmerizing seascape.

Sweet symmetry and natural materials achieve a peaceful balance in this luxurious Indonesian villa.

Boho-spirited interior and luxurious pool terrace are connected by wide courtyard doors in this beautiful villa design. A stone feature wall falls into an outdoor essence that completes the invigorating flowery view.
